If you are a fitness enthusiast, sweating while you workout is a given. You would be using use many gym equipment or running at a stadium on a hot, dusty day.  Have you ever wondered about skin problems when you touch your face to wipe off the sweat, as you handle the gym equipment or tie your shoelaces?

It is great to have a fitness routine to keep healthy and stay in shape butt, your skin also needs your attention. Here are tips for you, fitness enthusiast, to keep your skin as healthy as your body:

Pull your hair back

For you who have long hair, it is better if you tie your hair into ponytail or braid it. It is also a good idea if you wear your headband, so your bangs won’t fall to your forehead. This method will not only make you exercise more comfortably, but also prevent breakouts. We know that our hair also have oil, and if this oil, mixed with dust and bacteria accumulated, it will lead to clogged pores—which cause acnes and blackheads. No!

Always rehydrate

When you exercise, you lose water in your body by sweating. This is a common sense, but this trick helps you to keep your skin hydrated and glowing.

Freshen up with facial mist

To make your skin ‘awake’ from a long gym session, you can spray homemade, natural face spray that you can make at home. Just simply brew your favorite green tea or herbal tea, chill it in the refrigerator, and store it into a small spray bottle you can bring in your makeup pouch. Green tea will help to nourish your skin, peppermint tea will give energizing effect, and chamomile or lavender tea can calm your face.

Never touch your face

You may not notice it but your hands may be touching your face during your session to wipe up sweat or something. If you really need to wipe the sweat on your face, it is better to bring a small towel to wipe it up. Otherwise, you need to wash your hand with soap before you touch your face to avoid acnes and blackheads.

Exfoliate frequently

People who workout routinely produce more dead skin cells than the average person, and those dead skin can trap oil and dirt which can lead to acnes. Always remember to exfoliate your face with mild exfoliant at least once a week. Exfoliating removes dead skin and prevent your face from breakouts.

Clean your face after working out

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser after working out. Choose cleansers that have ingredients like tea tree oil, as it can prevent your pores from clogging. Besides, tea tree oil also has amazing ability to keep your skin healthy and acne-free.

Change your clothes immediately

Admit it, how many times have you ended up spending hours running errands in your gym clothes after a workout? During your workout session, the bacteria and toxins from your body get soaked in your clothes. Yes, you can guess: these naughty bacteria can lead to body acne. Make sure to shower and change into clean clothes to prevent it to happen.

Don’t wear any makeup

For some ladies, it may seem impossible to go outside without makeup, including when working out. But makeup prevents your skin to breathe during your workout. It is recommended to go bare face during working out to prevent clogged pores. If you really cannot leave your makeup products, wear a tinted moisturizer only. Tinted moisturizer has ingredients to even out your skin tone without make your skin too ‘heavy’. Use a product with SPF protection for your outdoor exercise.

Keep moisturizer in hand

To make your skin hydrated, drinking water is not enough. Don’t forget to moisturize your face and body after washing and showering.
