Here are some waterfalls you can visit around Jakarta this weekend:

Curug Cilember

Curug Cilember

Cilember is a village located in Cisarua, Puncak, West Java with its waterfall as the most popular destination. When you arrive at the area, you will be welcomed by mysterious thin fog that seems like enticing you to come there. In Cilember waterfall, you will be faced with a challenge to visit seven waterfalls in the region with an increasingly difficult terrain.

How to get there: you can take Jagorawi toll road and exit at Gadog. Continue the the trip to Mega Mendung, Puncak. Near the entrance of Mega Mendung, there is an alley that leads to Curug Cilember. The distance of the alley and Curug Cilember is around 12 km.

Curug Seribu

Curug Seribu

Curug Seribu is a waterfall that falls from a 100 meters tall water source. On the way to this waterfall, there are three other waterfalls: Curug Cihurang, Curug Ngumpet, and Curug Cigamea, which ranges from 5 to 10 meters tall. Located around 750 to 1,050 above sea level, these waterfalls are within the Gunung Bunder area at Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (approximately 38 km away from Bogor city center).

How to get there: Through Jalan Raya Bogor, after you entered Bogor, turn right towards Taman Yasmin and go forward to Lewiliang. Before Lewiliang, you will find Pasar Cibatok; from there, turn right towards Curug Seribu.

Curug Nangka

Located in Ciapus, Bogor (about 25 km from Bogor city center), Curug Nangka is also one of the alternative waterfalls to visit around Bogor. It can be reached around an hour by car from Jakarta. Not far from Curug Nangka, you can also find Curug Luhur, Curug Daun, and Curug Kawung—all of three are still within the area of Gunung Salak. Curug Nangka has 3 stages, ranging from 10 to 20 meter tall.

How to get there: Through Jagorawi toll road, exit at Baranang Siang, Bogor. Go towards Istana Bogor, and continue the trip to Ciapus.

If you bring your kiddies, then Curug Panjang may be the right choice for you to visit. In this area there are some less steep climb and smaller pools which are suitable for kids (although the rocky and muddy terrain can be slippery when wet). In addition to the waterfall, there is also camping ground and fishing ponds.

How to get there: head to Puncak and turn left at the end of the toll road (Mega Mendung junction), and follow the sign that leads to Curug Panjang.

The waterfall that is located in Sentul Paradise Park, Bogor can be an alternative holiday destination for you. In the waterfall area, you can splish and splash in the water in well-arranged pools. There are also other interesting rides you can try here such as flying fox or renting the boats in this area. For kids, there are also pools that are safe for them.

How to get there: You can go through Jagorawi toll road towards Curug Bidadari Sentul Paradise Park. Exit from Sentul City or Sentul Selatan gate, and at the first fork, turn left.
