6 Ways to Accessorize Your Bags

2610

Have you ever thought of accessorizing your accessories?

Well, it’s the current fashion trend. People do not only accessorize themselves, but also accessorize the accessories they’re wearing. One of the favorite accessories that people love to decorate is their bag.
Actually, handbag stores also sell accessories designed only for the bags they’re selling. However, sometimes the prices are too expensive (even up to half the price of the bag!). Don’t worry, you can use everyday objects to make your bags look fancier.

If you think that the strap of your bag is boring, now it’s time to replace it with ribbon. Simply unclip the existing strap, then knot the ribbon to whatever hardware is attached to the bag. It is better if you knot it once, and add a couple of stitches with a needle and matching thread to secure it. Cut the excess ribbon, and paint a thin strip of clear nail polish along the edge to prevent it from fraying. Voila! And you are very welcome to add other fancy keychain or bag charms to one side.

Don’t throw away your unused scarf just yet. Give a feminine touch to the handle of your bag with a scarf. Knot the corner of your scarf to the base of the handle to secure it. Start wrapping from there, and make sure that you wrap the handle tightly and evenly. Leave the excess scarf end out as part of the look, or you can tuck it to the wrapping.

Chains

Give your bag a Chanel vibe with chain (metal chain looks more expensive and elegant than a plastic or acrylic one). This trick works best with removable straps, but you can also cut the straps off and sew them back together once the chain is on or unclip it. Make sure that the chain is large enough so you can thread the strap through before you cut the chain. You will need pliers and something to cut the chain.

Bandana

Tie your colorful bandana to your bag. You can tie literally in any way—on the end of the straps, both of the straps, everywhere. To add more luxury looks, you can use silk bandana.

Metal key chains are perfect to accessorize your bag. Just use the ones that you never use (or don’t use anymore), and clip it to your bag.

PS: you can also clip earrings, brooches, pins or faux pearls; they will look extremely fancy and stylish on your bag.
