A Month of Rumi with Anupama Jain

Anupama Jain is an avid reader of Rumi. She shared her favorite quotes to kickstart 2019 with January as ‘month of Rumi’, in the most beautiful way.

Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi was a 13th century Persian poet, an Islamic dervish and a Sufi mystic. He is regarded as one of the greatest spiritual masters and poetical intellects. Born in 1207 AD, he belonged to a family of learned theologians. He made use of everyday life’s circumstances to describe the spiritual world.

Day 1
” Rumi – much of his work is dedicated to waking people up and encouraging them to experience life themselves, rather blindly following the scholars of the day.”

Day 2
“Rumi weaved magic with his words. His poems and quotes give insight and shows the way of living.”

Day 3
“Rumi, verbalizes the highly personal and often confusing world of personal growth and development in a very clear and direct way.”

Day 4
“Rumi’s wise words, inspire and empowers us to live a more meaningful, authentic and beautiful life.”

Day 5
“What you think about, you bring about.

Rumi tells us to seek within oneself and not outside.”

Day 6
“Rumi, always talks about closeness and being one with God, he says, during a rough phase of our life, is the time when we are closest to God and get the enlightenment and awareness of his presence.”

Day 7
“Thankfulness is the key to our life. Lets thank God for all the blessings he has given us, instead dwelling on the negative – Rumi”

Day 8
“Friends are the charming gardeners, who make our soul blossom”

“Rumi, penned a beautiful expression of the closeness of the Friend, he says, the one who has a good friend, doesn’t need a mirror.”

Day 9
“Rum’s writings encourage us to find the best in the worst, he says, when we are suffering, we can surrender to grace. Even the deepest suffering has to turn to joy with pure awareness and acceptance”

Day 10
“The ruin and despair of the world, may be just a pathway, we need to walk in order to discover the treasure, the treasure of God, Love and Trust, and once its discovered, it can never be ruined again, becoming more resilient, alive, flourishing and free”

Day 11
“An amazing proverb that tells us to educate ourselves. The Art of knowing means to seek knowledge about ignoring everything that minimizes our happiness.”

Day 12
“And the Quote says it all…..!”

Day 13
“Rumi’s perspective rightly suggests that whatever we loose, will return to us in a different form. The challenge is being awake enough to see the other form.

Being able to be silent and observant of all the incredible magic in this world is a real talent.

Let’s experience the beauty in the moment.”

Day 14
” Lets search to find that field where right doing and wrong doing no longer matter.

It is the field where bliss lives. And happiness thrives. And love rises and swells and surrounds everything like a gentle, cozy mist. But it is up to us to make a choice and dare to break the shackles of the material limitations and look beyond.

It is our choice to walk down that path of love.”

Day 15
“Rumi guides us to step out of our comfort zone, he asks us to learn to embrace discomfort so that we can move forward on the path of self realization.”

“He says safety is just an illusion, take risks, and move into your fears. The cave you fear is the cave you should enter. Reinvent yourself over and over again, that is the sign of true growth and enlightenment.”

Day 16
“Rumi warns us not to believe everything we are told, but to go forth into the world, perform our own search and come to our own conclusions. Let others decide what is good for them, we must chart out our own course across the ocean of life.”

Day 17
“Let us find people who will shine light on our path and let us be away from the ones who make us sad and create fear within us”.

Day 18
“Believe, you can do what you want. You can achieve your goals; you can reach out and grasp your dreams.

Even if your goals and dreams are lofty, there is no reason to stop believing you can achieve them. Obstacles are inevitable, but they shouldn’t hold you back for long. Always remember the Universe is on your side”.

Day 19
“Rumi says, everyone we encounter, whether they are permanent residents of our world or just passers by,they each are on a mission to guide us in our journey of life. Some we admire, some teach us, others challenge us or serve as a mentor, either way, there’s always something to learn. Be grateful.”

Day 20
“Choose love, be love. Ultimately we have the choice to choose love or fear in any moment. Love is where we come from and where we go, and what we’re called to bring in this experience of life. Love is worth it all”.

Day 21

“Over the years we all come in and out of relationships. Some of them last, while some fade away over time. But a connection that is heart to heart lasts, no matter what, and that is the beauty of it. Real love transcends material plane, and no matter if your bodies are apart, your soul will forever be connected.”

Though the epitome of Love, Devotion and Positivity says there’s no Goodbye, but have to say Goodbye to my present duty till I am honored with such coveted privilege again. Can’t tell you how much i loved this duty, hope that Rumi be there for you throughout for the rest of your life steering your way whenever needed like the way he had been with me through the thick and thin.
