Are your eyes feeling puffy? Or are you beginning to see fine lines around your eyes? Eyebrow pinching is something you can do that is non-invasive and can definitely change the look of your eyes while refreshing it at the same time.

What is Eyebrow Pinching?

Brow pinching is an ancient Ayurvedic massage treatment that promises to solve a variety of issues on the skin like wrinkles, puffy eyes and balding eyebrows. By doing this treatment, you will be able to experience numerous benefits on the skin and particularly in the eye area. It is a treatment that involves using oils, kneading and pinching on the skin around the eyebrows and eye area.

Benefits of Eyebrow Pinching

As been mentioned above, brow pinching has numerous benefits for the skin, especially in the eyebrow and eye area. As for the mind, this treatment helps to relieve tension on the eyebrows by working through the marma points which are energy points in the body used in Ayurveda.  Massaging these pressure points is supposed to boost positive energy into your chakras.

The gentle kneading and pinching on the skin also provides benefits for the skin, namely the condition of the skin. The pinching done on the skin stimulates circulation, allowing the cells to be nourished with the essential nutrients that rejuvenate the skin and allow the body to heal. As a result, collagen production is increased, which improves skin elasticity and helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. That is not all, as the regular blood circulation can also stimulate the hair around the eyebrows, increasing chances that your eyebrows will grow lusher. Moreover, the increased circulation also meant that the lymphatic system in the skin improves which reduces the amount of toxins on the body.

How to do Eyebrow Pinching at Home

First, get some essential oils to massage your face with. Then, make circles around the eyes starting from the center of the face up around the bridge of the eyebrows into your eye socket using your ring finger.

Lay your head down while you push your thumbs against the center of your eyes. After that, start pushing from the center of the eyebrows and slowly towards the end of the brow bone.

Take index finger and middle finger onto the temple’s skin and make circles outwards to the hair.

Pinch the eyebrows from the center and slowly moving outwards onto the end of the eyebrow.

Pinch the middle of the eyebrows using the thumb and index finger. Massage from the hair onto the eyebrows, then pinch the beginning of the eyebrows. Continue until you reach the end of the eyebrows.

Massage by pressing the thumb onto the eyebrows from the beginning to the end of the eyebrows.

Make a figure 8 around both the eyes, adding one finger at a time.

Tap your eyebrows, then tap under the eyes.

Take your index finger and middle finger, twisting the fingers in a crescent moon motion. This is done to the third eye area, right in the middle of the forehead.

Resting the eyebrows onto the palm of your hands.
