Covid-19 test before travelling to Bali

The coronavirus pandemic has limited travel with closed borders and regulations. Although that is the case, domestic travelling is still an option for those of us in Indonesia. Especially for those who want to go to Bali, there are certain requirements you must fulfill in order to enter Bali safely.

Here are the requirements for domestic travelling to Bali and currently in force since December 2020:

-Presenting COVID-19 Negative Certificate (PCR) for Airplane Passengers

Health certificate of negative RT-PCR test results, issued within a maximum period of 2 x 24 hours before departure or negative results of the rapid antigen test, issued within a maximum period of 1 x 24 hours before departure.

For travelers who do not have a valid negative swab test PCR result health certificate, you are required to conduct an independent swab test at a Government Hospital or at a dedicated laboratory designated by the Bali Provincial Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling of COVID-19.

While in Bali, the traveler must have a certificate of negative PCR-based swab test or negative Rapid Antigen-based test results with a validity period of 14 (fourteen) days from the date of issuance.

Children under 12 years of age are not required to show negative results of the PCR-based swab test, the Antigen Rapid test or the Antibody Rapid Test (does not require a COVID-19 free certificate).

-Presenting COVID-19 Negative Certificate (Rapid Test) for Sea and Land Travelers

For sea and land travelers, you must show a negative statement of COVID-19 test with a maximum of 2 days before departure using the rapid test method coming from a government hospital laboratory, the health department, or other authorities. The test result is valid for 14 days from the issuance or a negative swab test PCR result at the departure gate.

Not only air travelers, but land and sea travelers must also have a certificate of negative PCR-based swab test or negative Rapid Antigen-based test results with a validity period of 14 (fourteen) days from the date of issuance.

Children under 12 years of age are not required to show negative results of the PCR-based swab test, the Antigen Rapid test or the Antibody Rapid Test (does not require a COVID-19 free certificate).

Presenting COVID-19 Negative Certificate (Rapid Test) for certain groups of people

The COVID-19 Negative Certificate (Rapid Test) is mandatory for persons conducting logistical travel purposes, officials from government institutions, and employees of private enterprises intending to stay in Bali for more than 7 days. This regulation is also imposed on travelers that do not own Bali KTP, but for special circumstances residing in Bali by completing a statement and guarantee letter, which can be downloaded at cekdiri.baliprov.co.id.

-Provide identification, KTP, or other forms of identification.

This applies to all categories of travelers who intend to visit Bali.

-Transit Travelers who do not intend to visit Bali

Transit passengers who would be confined to Ngurah Rai International Airport and don’t intend to visit Bali do NOT have to provide a valid non-reactive rapid test health result.

All travelers also need to download the eHAC app on their mobile phones and submit their data on arrival at the airports.
