Yes, holidays are the time for you to unwind and maybe, skip your exercise and diet plan for a while. You will try out the local cuisine, go sunbathing, or simply just lying on your comfy hotel bed. But you must hate coming back to reality and seeing that you’ve gain a couple of pounds, don’t you?

If your holiday schedule is jam-packed, and you do not think that you have the time to exercise, here are easy ways to exercise while on holiday:

Walk everywhere

If you’re in a central area, chances are, you can take a leisurely stroll to all the points of interests within it. You can also walk on the beach. Walking on the soft sand is a killer workout and burns more calories than walking on the flat ground.

Swimming at the beach

Most of us hit the beach to frolic in the waters or lay immobile on a deck chair while sunbathing. Next time, dedicate just 20 to 30 minutes to swim alongside the shoreβ€”not towards the sea as that can be dangerousβ€”and you can work pretty much every muscle in your body: your arms, core, and legs.

Beach volleyball

You can burn more than 150 calories an hour, depending on how hard you work and it’s a great way to meet other people at the beach while having fun.

Do a quick circuit in your hotel room

High-intensity exercise done in a short period of time has been proven to increase strength and fitness at comparable rate to long hours of running or cycling. All you need is a wall and a chair (or the edge of your bed if your room doesn’t have one). Do two rounds of this exercise while waiting for your travel partner to get out of the shower.

Get a jump rope

Jumping rope is a great way to get in a few minutes of intense cardio workout and it can be done just anywhere. If you don’t have one, climbing the stairs will give you the same impact.

Lifting weights on the road

Finding fun cardio activities is easy when you’re on vacation. A quick workout with body weight exercises, resistance bands or full water bottles will keep you strong and fit until you get back home to your usual routine.

Dance, dance and dance
