One delightful snack that many people would have a hard time of refusing are nuts. Salty and savory, toasting it makes it even more delicious. Yet toasting it can be difficult if you don’t have the proper equipment. Luckily, there are a total of 3 ways to toast nuts.

Here’s how:

Microwave toasting

  1. Spread nuts evenly in a flat microwavable dish.
  2. Cook on high power for 3 to 4 minutes for 1/2 cup of nuts or 4 to 5 minutes for 1 cup.
  3. Stir three times during cooking.

Oven Toasting

  1. For oven toasting, preheat to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a low sided pan, evenly spread nuts.
  3. Bake, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Stove top Toasting

  1. For stove top toasting, melt butter in frying pan.
  2. Cook over low heat.
  3. Stir constantly while browning nuts.

Tips:

  1. Microwaved nuts will continue to darken after being removed from the oven.
  2. Oven toasted nuts are done when you can smell them.
  3. All nuts should be cooled on paper towels.
