In July 2008, a formal group was formed on the initiative of some Jain families with the objective providing a collective social platform for holdingย cultural, religious, spiritual and social events and forging solidarity amongst Jain families in Indonesia.ย It was named as Jain Social Group, Indonesia(JSG). Over the years, JSG has contributed in many charity activities in Jakarta.ย It also has good collection of books in its mobile library which members can borrow for reading. Running Pathsala for imparting basic tatva gyan of Jainism is also an important goal of JSG. Any Jain can be a member of JSG.
The vision is to help the underprivileged society in Indonesia & India along with providing a collective social platform for holding the cultural & spiritual activities and forging solidarity amongst Jain families in Indonesia.
Over the years, JSG has contributed in many charity activities in Jakarta. Similar to previous years, in year ย 2018 JSG Indonesia has donated IDR 25.5 million for Earthquake / Tsunami victims at Palu โ Indonesia along with distributing medicines and grocery items. Further, IDR 25 million each to 3 yayasan, namely – yayasan Rawinala (working to support persons has >2 limitations), The Indonesian Pediatrics Cancer Foundation (providing assistance to children with cancer from underprivileged families) & Yayasan Cheshire Indonesia (supporting persons with disabilities from road or industrial accidents)
President of Jain Social Group is Vimal Kumar Jain, Vice President Pramod Jain, Treasurer Shailesh Shah and Secretary Vishal Jain. AL Pokharna, Naresh Anchalia & Sanjay Jain are Advisors along with committee members Sandip Bumb,ย Dipika Lunawat, Mayuriben Shah & Palak Bhansali.
